Case study 03 · AI employee

LeadRadar

A freight and logistics sales team was spending its days hunting for prospects instead of selling to them. We built an AI agent to do the hunting. Its 10-lead test booked two deals.

The situation

Freight and logistics sales in the New York and New Jersey metro is a fragmented market full of small and mid-size operators. The information on who to call exists, but it's scattered across directories, databases, and company websites.

Bought lists came without verified contacts. Too much of the sales team's week went to finding people to call, instead of calling them.

What was at stake

Every hour spent researching is an hour not spent selling. And a call to a prospect who was never a fit wastes the hour twice.

What we did

  1. 01Built an AI agent that searches business directories, industry databases, and the web, set up to cover five target counties.
  2. 02Gave it a scoring model: company size, service fit, technology use, and growth signals. Only prospects scoring 70 or higher count as Tier 1, and every phone number is verified before it's delivered.
  3. 03Had it write a personal first email for each prospect, based on what that company actually does.
  4. 04Delivered it all as a daily report: the top prospects, why each one fits, and how to reach them.

What changed

2 dealsBooked from the 10-lead test.
10 of 10Prospects delivered with a verified phone number.
7+ of 10Scored Tier 1, with a fit score of 70 or higher.
1–2 a dayQualified prospects delivered, with no one on the team doing the research.

The owner paused after the test. Not because it didn't work, but because the team didn't have the people to work more leads.

The proof

LeadRadar daily report, top priority lead: a foodservice distributor with a fit score of 82, its location, contact role, and why it fits; company name, phone and email redacted
LeadRadar daily report · prospect names and contact details redacted
LeadRadar daily report, leads two and three: a building materials distributor scored 78 and a beverage distributor scored 76, with locations, contact roles and why each fits; names, phones and emails redacted
LeadRadar daily report · leads two and three

The lesson

Finding buyers is only half the job. If follow-up depends on someone having free time, the leads pile up. That's why we build the finding and the follow-up as one system.
